Fall 2021 Bus Driver Shortage
Similar to many school districts across the state and nation, ISD 196 is experiencing a severe bus driver shortage. As a result, bus transportation for offsite athletic events could be a challenge to arrange.
The ISD 196 Transportation Department is working hard to find drivers (even contracting out to other bus companies) to accommodate middle school bus requests for sports and other activities. Students participating on sports teams may need to be dismissed from 6th period no earlier than 2:45 to accommodate transportation timing.
In the event transportation is unavailable to an offsite athletic event, students and parents will be notified via school announcements (BHMS website, Schoology and p.a. announcement) by 2:00 p.m. the day of the event. Practices will replace any canceled competitions.
