Every Meal Program (formerly Sheridan Story)
UPDATE: WINTER MEAL PROGRAM - Dec 2020- Jan 2021
BHMS is committed to community partnerships to support families in need during this season and throughout the year. Every Meal (formerly Sheridan Story) supplies meal kits independently and/or supplemental to the ISD 196 meal packs. These are available on site at BHMS through next Tuesday, December 22, with an additional pick up location at the YMCA in Eagan over break. Information available at: winter meal program map
Black Hawk Middle School is excited to announce we are once again offering the Every Meal (formerly Sheridan Story) free weekend food program!
If your family is interested in receiving a free bag of groceries, students can pick these up with their take home lunches Monday/Thursday, Tuesday/Friday, or with the 5 day meal pick up on Wednesday. On Wednesday, you will need to exit your vehicle to select the groceries that suit your family’s needs and/or preferences. If you would like to make an appointment for food pick up, please contact Annie Estes, our Student Support Specialist at 651-905-5822.
There are four choices of meal types:
- Basic meal (like in past years)
- Mobile meals (ready-to-eat food)
- Latino-focused foods
- East African/Somali focused foods
To sign up, contact Jill Heasley at Jill.Heasley@district196.org or 651-905-5820.
This program is completely free and your identity is kept private.
More than 200,000 children in Minnesota live with food insecurity. Without reliable access to food – such as meal programs at school – the risk of hunger is very real. The Sheridan Story works to combat hunger in our community by filling the gaps to food access that children face: primarily weekends and summers.
