The Sheridan Story
Black Hawk Middle School is excited to announce we are once again offering the Sheridan Story free weekend food program!
If your family would be interested in receiving a free bag of groceries discreetly placed in your child’s locker each Friday, please let us know.
There are four choices of meal types:
- Basic meal (like in past years)
- Mobile meals (ready-to-eat food)
- Latino-focused foods
- East African/Somali focused foods
To sign up, contact Jill Heasley at Jill.Heasley@district196.org or 651-905-5820.
This program is completely free and your identity is kept private.
More than 200,000 children in Minnesota live with food insecurity. Without reliable access to food – such as meal programs at school – the risk of hunger is very real. The Sheridan Story works to combat hunger in our community by filling the gaps to food access that children face: primarily weekends and summers.
