A Message from Principal Anne Kusch

Good evening BHMS Families,

In case you haven't noticed, the chilly weather has officially set in. That means winter gear is right around the corner! We don't want students to lug around heavy coats, so we'll be assigning lockers next week.

One big change: Lockers will only be used to store coats, boots, lunches and co-curricular items. Our students will still be allowed to carry their backpacks with academic items in them from class to class.

During conferences, your child's Panther Time teacher will give you a copy of your student's schedule with their locker assignment and combination. That way, you can practice locker use with them after your conference. Hard to believe, but most of our students haven't had the opportunity to use lockers before, so we'll be supporting them and helping them the following week.

And speaking of conferences, if you haven't signed up, please do that as soon as possible. BHMS will hold student-led conferences on Wednesday November 3, from 4-8 PM and Thursday, November 4th, from 12-8 PM. Interpreters will be available - please note the preferred language when you sign up. Directions can be found at https://bhms.district196.org/families/conferences.

One more reminder: We will not dress up at school for Halloween this year. All masks and props should remain at home. No face/body paint, and/or fake blood should be worn to school.

Have a great evening!
