SPRING BREAK ~ NO SCHOOL MARCH 22 - 26

Hello Black Hawk Families,

We tied up Trimester 2 in style by honoring 74 students in our Panther Pride Ceremony which was posted the morning of Friday, March 12th. You can still view the pre-recorded ceremony on our website here: https://bhms.district196.org/community/panther-pride-award. We are so proud of the tenacity and persistence of ALL our students and especially those recognized in T2, keeping shining!

Another shining achievement was the success of the BHMS 7th grade food drive. Typically, our 7th grade team tackles the food drive on their own, but the 2020-2021 school year has been anything but typical. As a result, the 7th grade team decided to bring the whole Black Hawk community together to raise money and collect food for the Open Door, a food pantry right here in Eagan. The goal was to raise $2021 dollars and 2021 lbs of food. Black Hawk surpassed that goal by raising $2,623 and weighing in at 2,258 lbs of food! Again, what a beautiful tribute to our community and our ability to come together in the spirit of service and exceed our own goals!

If possible, please make enjoying the upcoming Spring break a goal in your household! Take some time away from tech, relax, read a book, and hopefully mother nature will provide us with sunshine and ample opportunities to breathe the fresh spring air while walking, biking, or just relaxing outdoors. When we return, stay tuned, we may be looking forward to a full return to campus or we may be looking to stay strong in the hybrid model. The Board of Education will meet again this Thursday evening to discuss the return to full in person at the secondary level https://www.district196.org/about/school-board/school-board-meetings-and-agendas

Please know, whatever twists and turns emerge in our path we’ll accept them with grace and walk together through the last third of the year together! As always, reach out with questions, concerns, feedback, celebrations, and success stories!
