Important! Last day of school!

All grade levels will be participating in fun, off-site activities on Wednesday, June 9, the last day of school. Please make sure your student is here on time that day and refrain from picking them up early.

Jazz Band and Friends for grades 7 and 8

Interested in band this summer? All students who are registered for band for fall 2022 in grades 7 and 8 are welcome to join! There are five sessions - from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Mondays 7/25, 8/1, 8/8 and Thursdays 7/28, 8/4. It's $39 for all five session.

Hotspot return

District-issued internet hotspots will be shut down in the coming days/weeks as the cellular carrier is upgrading, and the technology is not compatible with the hotspot. All families should return the current hotspot and power adapter to the Black Hawk front office prior JUNE 6, 2022.

If you need a replacement, please fill out this request form as soon as possible. If you no longer need a hotspot, simply bring the equipment to our front office.

Yearbook orders can still be placed through Jostens, through June 1 or while supplies last.

Free meals are available to District 196 students through a variety of summer programs.

Friday ice cream

Beginning May 6, we will offer students an a la carte option of various ice cream treats each Friday during the month of May. During lunch, students can purchase ice cream for $1 to $2. If interested, parents should deposit money into the student lunch account at

Food service will also accept cash. Smaller bills are appreciated.

Students will be reminded they must stay seated and raise their hand to receive permission from the staff supervising the lunch room to go to the ice cream station.

New club alert!

Current 6th and 7th graders, are you interested in making new friends at Black Hawk next year? If so, you have the opportunity to join a new club called Best Buddies. The club is open to all students at Black Hawk. Club members will meet together for fun activities throughout the school year. District Information & Events

5th annual South of the River Pow Wow

Save the date for 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, for the 5th annual South of the River Pow Wow at Burnsville High School, 600 State Hwy 13. The event is free and open to the public. There will be a traditional Lacrosse Clinic from 10:30-12:30 the same day and location with Twin Cities Native Lacrosse and a free feast at 5 p.m. For more information, contact your South of the River American Indian Education Program.

Eagan High School boys soccer info night

All incoming freshmen interested in playing Eagan High School boys soccer in the fall of 2022 are invited to attend a pre-season kickoff meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at EHS in lecture room C. At the meeting, players will meet head coach Tim Foley and hear his expectations for the season. Summer training will be discussed as well as the dates for summer camp, captains' practices dates and tryout dates/times.

All interested players should email with their name and contact email and parent/guardian name and contact email to be added to the Booster Club communication list.

Eagan High School Dance Team tryouts

Join the 2022-23 Eagan High School Dance Team this summer for training, technique, and team bonding. Tryouts are open to all students currently in grades 7 through 11.

Tryouts will be held in the EHS gym from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 24, 3:30 to 6 p.m. May 25 and during an assigned time on May 26 (from 3 to 9 p.m.).

Eagan High School girls soccer meeting

There will be an informational meeting for any current 8th-grade students interested in playing on the EHS Girls Soccer team for the 2022 fall season from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 31, in Lecture Room A at Eagan High School.

The Eagan High School Girls Soccer Booster Club and head coach Shari Eckstrom will present information that will help incoming players and their families prepare for the upcoming season.

Are you interested in being an Eastview Lightning Girls' Volleyball player? Fall tryouts for the 2022 season begins Aug. 15. Get ready for tryouts at the various camps and activities.

Community Events

Cops & Bobbers

Go fishing with an Eagan police officer during Cops and Bobbers, a chance for students to meet our Eagan officers and spend time together doing something fun. Cops and Bobbers is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Thomas Lake Park.

All levels of fishing experience are welcome to join. Poles and bait are provided. No fishing license for ages 15 and under required. There will be free lunch, prizes and other fun activities. Families are welcome to join. Cost is $5 a person.
