Counseling News

The BHMS counselors and school psychologist are working to form small groups beginning Trimester 2. They will be offering a variety of groups that focus on topics including stress management, navigating social situations/friendships and executive functioning skills.

Counselors will also be going into classrooms with a high school/career focus for 8th-graders and school success skills for our 6th- and 7th-graders.

The topic for Panther Time this month is self awareness. Students will be having conversations about the importance of self-awareness in all aspects of the BHMS community.

Growing Through Grief

More than 60,000 children and teens in Minnesota will experience the death of a parent or sibling during their school years. Grief is difficult to understand at any age. As a young person navigating the challenges of school and peer relationships, having a loved one die can make those routine challenges overwhelming.

Growing Through Grief offers intensive, in-school support to elementary, middle and high school students coping with the death of a loved one. If you think your student would benefit from this group, reach out to their grade level counselor for more information.

FIRST Robotics Team 2220 is conducting a FREE “Learn How to Solder and Build a Line Following Robot” class for GIRLS ONLY in grades 7 & 8 who reside in Eagan.

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) inspires young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.  Learn more at

Team 2220, a FIRST Robotics FRC team from Eagan High School, will be offering in-person classes to learn how to solder (with lead-free solder and the appropriate safety equipment) and how to build a line following robot.
